Renee E. Moody
Police Officer
Dumfries Police Department

I was raised in Spotsylvania County and graduated from Spotsylvania Senior High School in 1985

I attended the Basic Law Enforcement Officer training at Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy in 2010.

I began my law enforcement career with the Dumfries Police Department in 2010, and served as a patrol officer for two year. During that time I focused my efforts on meeting and interacting with citizens, children, and those who work in local businesses. I served as a neighborhood and business liaison for the police department, which allowed me to interact with home owners’ associations and help to resolve issues in their neighborhoods.

I have attend many in-service classes and was the first Dumfries Police Officer to successfully complete training and become certified as a Crime Scene Technician (CST) through the Prince William County CST training program.

In 2013, I accepted the position of School Resource Officer at Dumfries Elementary School. That same year, I attended training and became certified as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Officer. Through working with DES Staff and Prince William County School representatives, we were able to implement the D.A.R.E. Program for 5th Grade students in 2014. During this the first year of the D.A.R.E. Program, 83 students successfully completed the program and receive certificates during their 5th Grade graduation ceremony in June 2015.

In August 2015, I was elected to the position of Vice President of the Virginia D.A.R.E. Association. I was honored to be elected as the Vice President and consider it a privilege to serve the members of the D.A.R.E. Association in that capacity. I am excited to be a part of the Virginia D.A.R.E. organization and look forward to the challenges that are ahead.
